Magicians suffer first defeat
GRAND FORKS - The second-ranked Minot High School boys basketball team lost its first game on Saturday, a 73-64 defeat at the hands of Grand Forks Red River.
"It was a complete team breakdown," Magicians coach Dean Winczewski said. "A lot of it was on the defense and rebounding part of it. If you get to the mid 60s you should have a chance to win a basketball game."
Austin Frank led Minot with 15 points. Brandon Van Dusen tallied 13.
The Magicians (6-1) play at Mandan on Jan. 8.
