Robert Cyril Lagein, 82, of Noonan, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home in Noonan.

Robert was born April 22, 1930, the son of Alois and Augusta (DeConick) Lagein. He was raised on the family farm south of Noonan and spent most of his life farming there until he retired in the 1980s.

Robert attended a rural country school, where he graduated from the eighth grade, and later he received his GED. Robert married Donna (Wissbrod) Verlinde on Feb. 1, 1974. Robert liked flying and owned his own Champ airplane. He enjoyed woodworking and repairing things. He liked to garden, camp and fish. Robert and Donna traveled frequently and became life members of the National Good Sam Club in 1977, later joined the Sakakawea Chapter of the Good Sam Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was formerly a member of the Lions Club.

Robert was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Raymond Lagein; sisters, Evelyn Frith and Loretta Cavanaugh; stepdaughter, Kim Jacobson; and stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Verlinde.

He is survived by: his wife, Donna Lagein; two sisters, Helen Sandison and Cecilia Laturnus; brother, Arthur Lagein; sister-in-law, Alice Lagein; stepsons, Bruce Jacobson and David (Karen) Verlinde; stepgrandchildren, Taylor Verlinde, Gavin (Terra) Jacobson and Cory Jacobson; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m., in St. Luke's Catholic Church, Noonan, with Father Tomy Raphel as celebrant.

Rite of Committal will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Noonan.

A rosary and vigil service will be today, Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m., at the church.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 21, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home in Crosby, and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church. There will also be visitation Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Stakston-Martin Funeral Home of Crosby is in charge of arrangements.
