Raymond Larson, 85, Lignite, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, in a Crosby hospital.
Raymond David Larson was born on Aug. 4, 1927, a son of Edward and Tina Larson, on the family farm near Lignite. He was raised and educated in the Lignite area, graduating from Lignite High School.
On Dec. 27, 1948, Raymond was united in marriage to Carol Jean McEvers. They lived and farmed in the Lignite area. In 1970, they moved into Lignite but continued to farm. Carol died Sept. 8, 2009. Raymond continued to live in Lignite.
Raymond enjoyed working. Along with farming, he owned and operated Ray Larson Trucking Co. He also worked in the oil fields as a driver and pumper.
Raymond was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Lignite, where he served on the church board. When the churches merged he became a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Lignite. He was also a charter member of the Lignite Lions Club.
Raymond is survived by: Son, Mark (Carolyn) Larson, Lignite; granddaughter, Kady (Destin) Williams, Devils Lake, and their son Rylan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; son, Lowell Larson; brother, Carl Larson; and a sister, Doris Berg.
Funeral service: Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Lignite.
Burial: Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Lignite.
Visitation: Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
