Rose M. Deibert, 96, Velva, formerly of Minot, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in a Minot nursing home.

Rose Mary Dexheimer was born July 3, 1916, in Verendrye, to John and Elizabeth Dexheimer. She was raised in the Verendrye area and attended school there. As a young woman she survived a carbon monoxide accident which resulted in the death of her parents and a sister.

Rose married Frank Deibert on Aug. 20, 1938. They farmed in the Granville area until 1966 when they moved to Minot. She was employed at the Elks Lodge for several years. Frank died in March 1980.

Rose was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the ladies aid, both in Granville. She was also a 4-H leader in McHenry County for many years.

While living in Minot she was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Most recently she was a resident of the Souris Valley Care Center and a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, both in Velva.

Those who shared in her life: sons, John (Betty) Deibert, Dewey, Ariz., and Gerald (Joyce) Deibert, Minot; son-in-law, Richard Burgard, Minot; grandchildren, Mark (Sue) Hamilton, Rugby, Renee (Steve) Leitzke, Bismarck, and Barbara (Jeff) Bakken, Mandan; seven great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John (Eva) Deibert, Velva, Andrew Deibert, Minot, Martin Deibert, Towner, Balzer Burckhard, Rugby, and Lewis Bohl, Minot. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Rose was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank; her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Morrison-Burgard; son-in-law, Robert Morrison; grandson, Paul Morrison; her parents; brothers, Dominic Dexheimer, Leo (Agatha) Dexheimer, Tony (Johanna) Dexheimer; sisters, Lena (Peter) Kraft, Viola (Joseph) Selzler, Agatha (George) Schmaltz, Flora (Wendelin) Burgard, Eva Olson, Katherine Dexheimer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Donald Dosch, Tillie and Mike Haberlock, Katherine and Alfan Miller, Margaret Deibert, Mary Bohl, Helen Burckhard, Joe Deibert, Theresa Deibert and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass: Monday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Velva.

Burial: Monday, Dec. 3, at 1:45 p.m., Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be today, Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 5 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Sunday at 5 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
