Rachely and Barry Grindberg, of Velva, announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Rashel V. Grindberg, to Dr. Micheal C. Wilson, son of Michael and Stella Wilson, Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The couple met while in graduate school at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego, where they earned their PhDs in marine biology and oceanography, respectively.
She is a postdoctoral scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Munster, Germany researching how stem cells are useful in regenerative medicine. The future groom is an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow in organic chemistry at the University of Bonn, Bonn, Germany, focusing on drug discovery from marine sources.
A June 2013 wedding is planned, and then the couple will live in Zurich, Switzerland.
