This is regarding Tim Mathern's threats to revoke the Catholic church's tax exempt status.
I'm a Lutheran. I don't believe that a state official, Mr. Mathern, has the right to threaten the Catholic church for its beliefs and its right to speak their minds regarding the sanctity of life. Pardon the verbiage, but 'who does he think he is?' Seems he has bought into some power trip, where threats and blackmail are acceptable means to secure votes for a political party. The United States does not lower itself to crooked elections, that is for war-torn third world countries who are run by despots that ensure votes through oppression and threats... or is this more the American dream that Mr. Mathern has in mind for our nation? Shame on him, his party and everyone who supports these kind of ideals.
