Marlowe Koster, 76, Flaxton, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his home.

Marlowe John Koster was born Nov. 8, 1935, the son of Jens and Ellen (Myren) Koster, in Kenmare. He was raised and educated in Flaxton and graduated from Flaxton High School in 1953.

On Dec. 1, 1957, Marlowe married Rosemary Cochrane in Flaxton. They made their home in the Flaxton area, where together they raised their two children, Joy and Stacey. Besides farming for a number of years, Marlowe also worked for Bruce Sorum and later for Ingerson Manufacturing for a number of years. He also served as manager for Housing and Urban Development housing for the Flaxton Housing Authority. Rosemary passed away Feb. 21, 2009.

He was a member of United Lutheran Church, Flaxton, and served on the church council, the Flaxton City Council, Flaxton Volunteer Fire Department, and served as caretaker of the Flaxton Cemetery for several years.

Marlowe was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed framing and doing the matting work for Rosemary's beautiful artwork. He also enjoyed airplanes, as he visited several airplane museums and attended many air shows throughout the years.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Joy (Jeff) Kahn, of Tye, Texas; son, Stacey (Karen) Koster, Mayville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins.

Marlowe was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Rosemary.

Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., in Christ Lutheran Church, Lignite.

Interment: Flaxton Cemetery, Flaxton.

Visitation: Cremation has taken place. There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

Memorials: Are preferred to the Flaxton Cemetery Association.
