BISMARCK (AP) - Two international election observers are touring North Dakota in the next two weeks to see how the state's elections process works.

Maryia Heletiy of Ukraine and Gunnar Garbe (GUH'-nar GAR'-buh) of Germany are representing the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. It includes 56 countries in North America, Europe and Asia.

They'll be talking to state and local officials about how elections in North Dakota are conducted and regulated. They spent 10 days in South Dakota before arriving in Bismarck this week.

After Election Day, they'll be writing a report on their findings.

Garbe says it's his first time observing elections in the United States. He's been in Ecuador and Bolivia in South America, and Belarus and Kazakhstan in eastern Europe.
