Dagmar A. Everson, 99, Minot, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

Dagmar was born to Carl and Otilie (Berntsen) Berg, on Sept. 24, 1913, in Kongsvinger, Norway. Dagmar came from Norway with her family at age three. She lived and attended school at Bergen and Ryder. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Ryder. She worked as a young adult at the Ryder Hotel, learning many cooking and baking skills. She became an expert in pie-making.

Dagmar married Earl Everson June 7, 1936, at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva. They were engaged in farming in the Granville area. She took an active part in farming, working side by side with Earl. Earl passed away on Feb. 6, 1997.

She was a member of Stenkjaer Lutheran Church, Simcoe, and participated in ladies aid and choir. Obtaining her U.S. Citizenship made her very proud. She valued her Scandinavian hertitage. Earl and Dagmar enjoyed a trip to Norway to meet and visit many relatives. In following years, she entertained many visitors from Norway.

Those most honored to share in her life include: her children, Doris (Myron) Seney, Minot, Gladys (Lowell) Twedt, Hingham, Mont., and Eunice Osterhues, Minot; grandchildren, Julie Twedt and Karen (Dan) Bauer; great-grandchildren, Colton, Ava and Dominic; stepgranddaughters, Kim and Kelly and their husbands and children; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Dagmar was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl; son-in-law, Edmund Osterhues; her parents; four brothers, Bernard, Ole, Emil and Edwin Berg.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Edgewood Vista, Trinity Homes, Heart of America, Rugby (during the flood of 2011), and most recently the Souris Valley Care Center of Velva. Special thanks to her longtime doctor, Charles Swenson.

Our family is honored by your friendship which you have accorded to us in so many ways at this time.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held: Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday, from 1:30 p.m. to service time, at the funeral home.

Burial: Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe.

Memorials: May be made to the Stenkjaer Cemetery Fund, Simcoe, or the Souris Valley Care Center Activity Fund, Velva.
