Two Minot men were arrested Friday evening on suspicion of burglary at a northwest Minot residence.
Jimmy Stewart, 38, and Myles Griffin, 26, are being held in the Ward County Jail on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, a C felony, criminal conspiracy to commit terrorizing, a C felony, and criminal conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment, a C felony. Stewart is also being charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle, a C felony.
According to a press release, police responded to the address at 7:06 p.m. Friday after receiving a call reporting that two black males had entered a residence with a handgun and demanded money. Law enforcement located the suspect vehicle, which the victim reported had left the residence with the two suspects, behind a business in the 800 block of North Broadway. According to the report, as law enforcement was initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle stopped and three black males fled from the vehicle. Stewart was caught and arrested across the street from where the vehicle was stopped. Griffin was caught and arrested four blocks away thanks to assistance of the public calling in the location of Griffin as he fled from the scene, according to the police. The third man was not located. A handgun was located a short distance away from the suspect vehicle, according to police.
