MSU hall of fame banquet to be held Saturday

The Minot State University athletic deparment will hold a banquet for its 2012 hall of fame class at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The event will be held in the conference center on the third floor of the student center. Tickets are available for $20.

Former student-athletes Michelle Hoff, Harry Mills, Ken Vetter and Lisa Hodgins will be honored, as will the 2003 NAIA national championship cross country team and Joe Alme, who revived the marching band.

Minot State men's golf ties for 15th

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - After a solid second round, the Minot State University men's golf team faltered in round three on Tuesday to finish tied for 15th at the Missouri Western State Invitational.

MSU shot a 317, a far cry from the 298 the Beavers carded in their last round Monday, to finish with a three-round total of 930. Central Oklahoma finished 70 strokes better for the tournament and took first place.

Senior Blair Anderson shot a 78 on Tuesday and a 229 for the tournament to pace the Beavers, who are finished until the spring season.
