DICKINSON (AP) - A 16-year-old Dickinson boy faces charges in juvenile court after authorities say he brought a gun on school property.
Superintendent Douglas Sullivan tells The Dickinson Press that the student brandished the gun in the high school parking lot during the school's homecoming dance last Friday. Police say the gun was not loaded, and no one was hurt.
The incident happened one day after a high school student in the southeastern North Dakota community of Fairmount shot himself in front of classmates in an apparent suicide attempt. The boy survived. KSFY-TV reports that he is recovering at a Fargo hospital.
