Minot Daily News

BISMARCK (AP) - Authorities say a convicted felon who walked away from a Mandan halfway house last month has been arrested in Fort Yates.

Dustin Hart is charged in federal court with escape. He's scheduled to be arraigned later this week.

Staff members at the halfway house discovered that Hart was missing after they were alerted to the fact he had tampered with his GPS monitor on the afternoon of Sept. 22.

Hart had been convicted in 2009 of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence. He was sentenced to nearly three years in prison.

Hart was moved to the halfway house on June 14 and was scheduled to be released on Dec. 24.
