WINONA, Minn. - The Minot State University women's soccer team used a 79th minute goal from sophomore Zoe Fisher to beat Winona State 1-0 Sunday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game.
"This was pretty big for us," MSU coach Jason Spain said in a press release. "They (Winona) don't lose at home. We were very good in the midfield today and did a great job of upping the pressure in the second half. I think we proved we can go on a tough trip and win games and play with the best in this conference."
Fisher's sixth goal of the year was unassisted. Minot State improves to 5-2-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play with the win. It was the Warriors' first Northern Sun loss this season.
The Beavers return home Saturday to face Concordia University, St. Paul at 1 p.m.
