INSTALLATION SERVICE SCHEDULED AT IMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH The installation service for Pastor Brian Skar will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, 1615-2nd St. SE. A reception will follow the service.
Skar graduated from Upham High School and from Minot State University with a bachelor's degree in history and education. He earned a master's degree in guidance counseling at North Dakota State University.
He served as pastor of Berthold Baptist Church from 1991 to 2008 and as pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Powers Lake, and First Baptist Church, Stanley, from 2008-2011.

ROSEGLEN CHURCH SETS DATE FOR LUTEFISK, TURKEY SUPPER Roseglen Immanuel Lutheran Church will hold its annual lutefisk and turkey supper with lefse and all the trimmings on Sept. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The cost will be $15 for adults and $7 for youth ages 6-12. There will be no charge for youth ages 5 and under.
A bazaar and quilt raffle will be held in conjunction with the supper.
CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S CLUB TO MEET TUESDAY Minot Christian Women's Club will meet Tuesday from 12:15 to 2 p.m. for their luncheon meeting in the Grand International Inn. People should dress in denim.
Bernadetta Bailey, of Great Falls, Mont., will be the guest speaker. Her topic will be "The Best Recipe for Life." Jerry Schlag, of Minot, will provide accordion music.
People may bring items for the silent and live auctions. A "farmer's market" area also will be available.

HARVEST REFORMED CHURCH SETS DATE FOR ITS MISSION FEST Harvest Reformed Church will hold its Mission Fest Sept. 16 in the Norse Room of the Grand International Inn, 1505 N. Broadway. The event includes services at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. A lunch will be served between the services.
The Rev. Maynard Koerner, of Sioux Falls, S.D., will be the guest speaker.
REVIVAL SERVICES TO BE HELD IN SOUTHSIDE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE Southside Church of the Nazarene, 2220-24th Ave. SE, will hold revival services Sunday through Wednesday. Jim Chapman will be guest speaker. The services will be Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Chapman speaks to thousands of people every year in conferences, camps, retreats, school assemblies and revivals. He may have his audience laughing one minute and crying the next, but will always the people challenged.
MINOT CHURCH TO HOST LIVING PROOF SIMULCAST WITH BETH MOORE, TRAVIS COTTRELL Immanuel Baptist Church, 1615-2nd St. SE, will host a 2012 Living Proof simulcast with Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell on Sept. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.
Tickets for the full day of music and worship, including sessions led by Beth Moore, are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
