Making the hard choices

September 9, 2012

We are in the final months of the campaign in which we will make choices in leadership in our state and nation that will impact us and our children and grandchildren for years to come. The national debt has increased by nearly six trillion dollars in the three and one half years Barack Obama has been president. We can't afford another four years of Obama as the leader of our country.

And if we continue to have a Democrat majority in the United States Senate there will be continued roadblocks and stalemates lead by Majority Leader Harry Reid no matter who is President. Our Democrat candidate for Senate in North Dakota has said she would vote for Harry Reid to continue as Majority Leader. All I can say is "why?" Reid and the Senate Democrats have done nothing to stem the spiraling national debt. Any meaningful legislation that has passed the House of Representatives is stalled in the Senate by Harry Reid. We need to have a change in the Senate to have a Republican majority to turn things around in this country. We are swimming in debt and Reid seems unwilling or unable to tackle these big issues which linger year after year.

We need proven leadership. Rep. Rick Berg was effective as the North Dakota House Majority Leader. He has the experience to lead and to make good decisions that are helpful to the residents of our state. Berg has the right vision for North Dakota and for our nation. We need to elect Berg to the Senate and get this country back on track.
