DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - A Dickinson man who allegedly choked his girlfriend until she passed out has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges.

Matthew Foxworthy also is accused of knocking out some of the woman's teeth and breaking some of her facial bones in the mid-June incident, as well as chipping the tooth of a man who tried to help her.

The Dickinson Press reports that Foxworthy is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and fleeing police. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the attempted murder charge.
