In regards to the opinion column of The Minot Daily News on Thursday Aug. 2, 2012, concerning your column titled "Medicare Benefits Slashed," I would like to comment. As I have said before, there are some folks in North Dakota that may be influenced by the opinions of the MDN, so it should be imperative that the actual facts be presented.
With your vast knowledge on politics, you should inform your readers what the $500 billion cut to Medicare consists of. In actuality the cuts are to be made to strengthen original Medicare, but let's hear it from the MDN on what this will accomplish.
A simple Google on the Internet will confirm my findings, if they choose not to respond.
