Williston State College is holding registration for the 2012 fall semester. Specific days for registration have been scheduled for July 30 from 1-4 p.m.; Aug. 15 from 1-4 p.m.; and Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are asked to pre-register for the date they would like to attend; deadlines for pre-registration are July 23 for the July 30 date; Aug. 8 for the Aug. 15 date; and Aug. 13 for the Aug. 20 date.
Applications must be made and the student must be accepted for enrollment before the registration process can begin. Students can learn more by logging on to the Williston State College Website at (www.willistonstate.edu).
"Once they apply and are accepted, they will get a letter in the mail with their student identification number, instruction on how to set up their user name and campus email and how to log in," Brittney O'Neill, admission and records associate, said in a press release. "Once they log in, there will be a to-do list with everything they need to turn in to us to complete the registration process."
On the day of registration, students must have their application fee, an official high school transcript, official scores of their ACT or SAT tests, or the COMPASS test for those who took that exam, an emergency contact form, and documentation of their MMR vaccinations.
"We ask the students to come 15 to 20 minutes early for registration so we can get them checked in, do their IDs, etc." O'Neill said. "Then we all meet together for an informational session, and then, if they had trouble getting logged in to the Campus Connection, IT personnel will be there to help them with that."
After they are set up and ready to go, students will meet with a faculty advisor to help them get their class schedule set up, and O'Neill and Registrar Kaylyn Bondy will be on hand to get the students enrolled before they leave.
O'Neill stated that registration days are set up to help the students and the college as well.
"We are trying to get students to get registered ahead of time so they're not scrambling for classes at the last minute," she said.
