Hypocritical statements

July 22, 2012
Minot Daily News

Bob Wolf, Minot

During his visit to Minot on Thursday, congressional candidate Kevin Cramer came across like a hypocrite when he stood up at the Tea Party rally and called for drastic government cuts.

Last year's flood destroyed the homes of more than 10,000 people and cost our region more than $1 billion. It was a catastrophe by any definition.

One reason we have been able to get back on our feet so quickly is because of funding from government programs. In total, we have received almost $500 million from organizations like the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration for assistance rebuilding homes, schools, roads, businesses and much more.

And Cramer has the audacity to come into our city and tell us that the government, should in fact, not be providing that funding to its citizens? Shame on him. How can he claim that he will represent the best interests of our state in Congress when he clearly is only interested in saying what the Tea Party wants to hear and pleasing his party bosses in Washington?

It is clear to me that he is not the right choice for North Dakota, not with that type of hypocrisy.
