Free speech, but it’s lies

July 8, 2012

Wayde Nelson, Hillsboro

Thank you, Citizens United. North Dakota is getting its first bad taste of that terrible ruling by the Supreme Court.

It gives free speech filled with lies and distortions to those who can afford to do so in television and radio ads. You now have Karl Roves so-called "non-profit" Crossroads GPS using 160K to slime Heidi Heitkamp by taking her words out of context and using her breast cancer ad against her.

Pretty classy stuff from a little man who makes a living off of slinging mud.

I hope the people of North Dakota see through these ads and realize it's a sign of desperation to help Rick Berg get elected at all costs, including the truth.
