Man dies in two-vehicle accident
UNDERWOOD Myron Makeeff, 73, Mercer, was killed in a two-vehicle accident late Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at 4:40 p.m. at the junction of U.S. Highway 83 and N.D. Highway 200 near Underwood.
Two occupants in the second vehicle, Gary Walsh and Mark Kluver, both 50 and from Alexandria, Minn., were injured.
According to a North Dakota State Highway Patrol report, Makeeff was traveling west and attempting to cross Highway 83 when he was stuck by a southbound pickup driven by Walsh. Walsh and Kluver were taken to Bismarck's St. Alexius Hospital with unknown injuries.
The McLean County Sheriff's Office, N.D. State Patrol and Underwood Ambulance and Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by Highway Patrol.
Vehicle rolls over on North Broadway
A 39-year-old man from Drake was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot following a one-vehicle accident in the 1800 block of North Broadway shortly before 10 p.m. Friday.
According to a Minot Police report, the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and had been consuming alcohol. Release of the driver's name was being withheld for notification of family.
Two passengers in the vehicle were treated at the scene and released.
According to police, the driver was driving too fast for conditions, lost control of the southbound vehicle and rolled over twice.
