BOTTINEAU Dakota College at Bottineau has its first student geared up to participate in a 3+1 Information Technology Transfer Agreement with Valley City State University.

The transfer agreement is the result of expanded course offerings developed in conjunction with the Northern Information Technology Consortium, consisting of the Bottineau facility, Williston State College, Lake Region State College and Turtle Mountain Community College.

The expanded course offerings and the acceptance of Valley City State University as an active course provider for the consortium resulted in the opportunity to provide a diverse inventory of information technology classes. Thus, Dakota College at Bottineau students who choose to continue their education are easily able to transfer all coursework into the Valley City State University Computer Information Systems Bachelor's Degree Program. This agreement enables students to remain in Bottineau for three years while taking upper level courses. The fourth year, they will be residents on the Valley City campus.

Information technology positions are open across the state and the United States, so instructors said this is a good career track for students.
