A meeting of the North Dakota Department of Human Services' Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Committee will be held today from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
The meeting will be held via video conference at five sites in North Dakota, including the North Central Human Service Center, at 1015 S. Broadway, Suite 18, Conference Room 411, in Minot.
The committee meets quarterly to advise the department on program and policy developments to help meet the needs of individuals with traumatic brain injuries and their families. Among the items on the agenda are:
+ reports from the Head Injury Association of North Dakota;
+ Community Options for Residential and Employment Services Inc., will report on the social and recreational services program;
+ the Department of Human Services' Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division will report on traumatic brain injury effects in North Dakota.
The committee includes legislators, advocates, providers, representatives of the North Dakota Department of Human Services, the North Dakota Department of Health, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Fargo VA Health Care System, as well as individuals living with a traumatic brain injury, and family members of people who have sustained a traumatic brain injury.
The public is invited to participate in the meeting at the Minot location, as well as at the following locations:
+ The North Dakota Dept. of Human Services Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division, at Prairie Hills Plaza, 1237 W. Divide Ave., Suite 1C, Prairie Rose Room, in Bismarck;
+ Lake Region Human Service Center, at 200 Highway 2 SW, East Conference Room, in Devils Lake;
+ Badlands Human Service Center, 300-13th Ave. W, Suite 1, Basement General Staff Conference Room, in Dickinson; and
+ Southeast Human Service Center, 2624 Ninth Ave. S, Red River Room, in Fargo.
