A chapter on fishing giant channel catfish in the Red River is included the "The Catfish Hunters," a book claiming to detail the techniques and science of catfishing.

Author Jake Bussolini and co-author Mac Byrum used their combined 120-plus years of catfishing experience to produce the publication.

Bussolini made extensive use of his engineering background in explaining to readers the science behind catfishing. Together with Byrum, the duo seeks to verify or disprove various catfishing myths.

Of particular interest to North Dakota readers is a chapter titled, "North to the Red River." Grand Forks channel catfish guide Capt. Brad Durick, a native of Bowbells, hosted the nationally renowned catfishermen on the Red River and their exploits are well documented.

While the book concentrates on fishing for flathead, blue and channel catfish, there are many techniques and ideas within its 300 pages that apply to fishing other species as well.
