What's better than flowers and a box of candy on Valentine's Day?

If you ask Terry Geisen, Jim Myers, Larry Linrud or Dave Iverson of the Dakota Blend, the answer is a serenade and a rose.

Barbershop quartet The Dakota Blend is ready to sing anywhere in Minot Tuesday, Feb. 14 for people's valentines, whether at work or home.

Submitted Photo - - The Dakota Blend barbershop quartet will be traveling around Minot on Valentine’s Day to present valentines of roses and a serenade for people’s sweethearts.

"We'll be travelling the city from 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.," said Geisen. "Homes, places of business, schools, restaurants, even nursing homes. We'll sing a song either 'Let Me Call You Sweetheart,' 'I Don't Mind Being Alone, If I'm Alone with You,' or one of our other numbers.

"We present the honoree with a rose, whether a man or woman, and we'll e-mail a photo of the event afterwards."

The cost is $40, and reservations can be made by calling 624-5414.

And if you're wondering how your sweetie will take these troubadours interrupting his or her day, "Some like it real well," Geisen said. "Some don't!"
