As instructors look on, a student registers for Project Appleseed at the Minot Rifle and Pistol Club Indoor Range Jan. 26. Project Appleseed is a product of the Revolutionary War Veterans Association. Volunteer instructors teach both heritage and history as well as rifle marksmanship skills.

"I think it's a program that everyone can benefit from as a citizen of America," said Jonathan Bartlett, Bottineau, shoot boss.

Inspired by early colonists, Project Appleseed emphasizes "six steps to firing the shot." More information about Project Appleseed can be found at (www.appleseedinfo.org).
