Comedian takes the stage

February 2, 2012
By CEECY NUCKER - Correspondent (ccnucker@yahoo.com) , Minot Daily News

A regular on The Sarah Silverman Show, Conan O'Brien and Late Night with Jimmie Fallon as well as doing standup, comedian Tig Notaro presents her show "Tig Notaro: Good One" at Minot State University's Ann Nicole Nelson Hall Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Notaro will present a show honed at improv clubs, colleges and living rooms across the United States. In a review of her recent comedy album "Tig Notaro: Good One," comments included: "Her active imagination takes her and us to some unexpected places. Have you imagined a baby taking a shower? What happens after you punch a shark in self-defense? And how is it that Yoda was so active and nimble at 870 years old, and yet so frail by 900?"

Notaro has a dry, intelligent wit, absurdist and mildly acerbic, but without the uncouth remarks of most modern standups. The subject matter is unobjectional, if not intended for children because frankly, they wouldn't get it.
