VELVA An Eagle Court of Honor was held on Nov. 27 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church honoring four Velva boys; Jordan Weidler, Taylor O'Shea, Codee Lee, and Mikel Cederstrom.
These four boys joined Velva Cub Scout Pack 457 at age 7. They earned Cub Scout's highest award, the Arrow of Light, in 2004 and joined Boy Scout Troup 456. They all earned over the minimum amount of merit badges and held troop leadership positions after achieving the rank of Life Scout.
Jordan's Eagle project was planning, organizing, and constructing a combination flag pole planter in memory of his grandfather at the Velva High School Sports Complex in the Velva Park.

Taylor's Eagle project was planning, and carrying out a smoke alarm project where he checked, cleaned, replaced batteries, and installed new smoke alarms in several homes in the city of Velva.
Codee's Eagle project consisted of planning, organizing, clearing, and cleanup of a lot for the Velva Public School. This area will be used for a future parking area.
Mikel's Eagle project was planning, and landscaping, and fencing an area in the Velva Sports Complex. This area is used for tailgating and extra space for picnic tables.
All of the boys attended Velva Public School and graduated in 2011. During their years at Velva Public School, they were all involved in music, sports, and many other organizations.
