Area high school students competed in the 14th annual Technology Day at Minot State University on Nov. 30. The event is sponsored by the university's business technology department.

High schools select students for competition in accounting, business law, desktop publishing, document production, business principles, spreadsheet applications, Web page design and business presentations. Every school is eligible to enter one student in each of the seven individual events. Each school's students will also form a team to compete in the business presentation event.

The school with the most points for placements in all competitions will receive a sweepstakes trophy. Participating high schools are Berthold, Des Lacs-Burlington, Kenmare, Max, Powers Lake, Sawyer, Surrey, TGU Granville, Underwood and Westhope. This was the first year that Powers Lake competed.
