Quilts presented to community groups

November 18, 2011
By DAILY NEWS STAFF , Minot Daily News

The Minot Prairie Quilt Guild recently presented some 30 quilts to the Minot Homeless Coalition, Domestic Violence Crisis Center and Trinity Health's Neonatal Unit. Trinity's Neonatal Unit also received burp pads and receiving blankets donated by Guild members.

The local Red Cross had received almost 30 quilts earlier this fall. Guild members had cut, pieced and quilted more than 60 quilts in 2011 for distribution to these organizations as well as Minot Air Force Base Breast Cancer and Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch quilt auctions.

Individuals also gave quilts to those displaced by the flood this summer. Audrey Lunday and Vonnie Dehnke, both of Minot, served as co-chairs of the Community Service quilts organizing fabrics into kits that members took home to piece and quilt.
