IMMANUEL BAPTIST SETS DATE, TIME FOR THANKSGIVING SERVICE A Thanksgiving service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, 1615-2nd St. SE.

There will be no 6:30 p.m. classes or 8 p.m. choir practice.

KC COUNCIL TO SERVE BENEFIT BREAKFAST Knights of Columbus Council #9906 will serve a benefit breakfast Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the lower level of St. Leo's Catholic Church, 218-1st St. SE.

The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, country style sausage, orange juice, coffee.

Proceeds of the freewill offering will benefit community and church programs.

CHURCHES TO HOST THANKSGIVING SERVICE WEDNESDAY An ecumenical Thanksgiving service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway.

Faith United Methodist Church, Vincent United Methodist Church, All Saints Episcopal Church and Congregational UCC will host the service.

Instead of a sermon during the service, a person from each of the churches will share of blessings found in the midst of disaster during the service.

An ecumenical choir practice for the service will take place at 6 p.m.
