RECEPTIONS SCHEDULED FOR RETIRING BISHOP Receptions throughout the Diocese of Bismarck will be held for outgoing Bishop Paul Zipfel, beginning Thursday. The receptions, which are open to the public, will consist of a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a reception from 8 to 9 p.m. The events will provide an opportunity for people of all denominations to thank Zipfel for his years of service to the diocese.

The first reception in northwestern North Dakota is scheduled in the Church of St. Joseph in Williston on Thursday. Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 707-16th Ave. SW, Minot, will host a prayer service/reception on Nov. 7. Other receptions are planned in Bismarck and Belfield.

Msgr. David Kagan, vicar general for the Diocese of Rockford, Ill., was appointed Zipfel's successor on Oct. 15 and will be installed as Bishop of Bismarck on Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck.

ANNUAL N.D. TEEN CHALLENGE DINNER TO BE HELD THURSDAY ?North Dakota Teen Challenge will host the annual celebration dinner Thursday in First Assembly of God Church, 1805-2nd St. SE.

Registration will be at 6:15 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person or $120 for a table of eight. The dinner will feature live worship from the NDTC Choir.

KC COUNCIL #4894 TO SERVE BREAKFAST ON NOV. 6 Knights of Columbus Council #4894 will serve a breakfast Nov. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 707-16th St. SW.

Pancakes, French toast, sausage, eggs and fruit will be served.

Proceeds of the freewill offering will benefit Special Olympics and Home on the Range.

FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE TO HOST HALLOWEEN EVENT ON MONDAY Minot First Church of the Nazarene, 2500 W. Central Ave., will host a "Light the Night with Jesus" event Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Vehicles will be lined up in the parking lot with treats for the children. Hot cider and hot dogs also will be served.

PRAIRIE GOSPEL QUARTET TO PRESENT BENEFIT CONCERT The Minot Prairie Gospel Quartet will have a gospel benefit concert Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 1415 17th Ave. SW. Also performing will be Heavens Harmony and Master's Plan, quartets from Bismarck.

There will be no admission fee but a freewill offering will be received to be used for rebuilding flooded churches in Minot and Burlington.

DATE SET FOR ANNUAL HOLIDAY FEST BAZAAR IN MINOT CHURCH The annual Holiday Fest Bazaar at Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will include Grandma's Attic items, bake and crafts shops, lefse and holiday items. Silent auction bids will be taken on a set of cutlery.

A luncheon of special ribbon sandwiches and homemade soups and pies will be available.

VOICES OF NOTE TO PRESENT CONCERT IN MINOT CHURCH ?Voices of Note will present "A Fall Concert" Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW.

A freewill offering will be received.

PARISH OFFICE OF LITTLE FLOWER CHURCH IS LOCATED IN CHURCH RECTORY The education office of Church of the Little Flower School, 800 W. University Ave., has been closed but the parish office continues to operate in the church rectory, 817-10th Ave. NW, or 838-1520. The parish office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Weekend liturgies are Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m. A communion service is held Mondays at 8 a.m. with weekday Mass Tuesday through Friday at 8 a.m. Adoration is held Wednesdays after the morning Mass until 8 p.m.

KARLSRUHE CHURCH TO HOLD ANNUAL FUN NIGHT Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, of Karlsruhe, will hold its Annual Fun Night Nov. 6, starting at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the church, which is handicapped accessible.

The event will include turkey bingo, a quilt raffle and country store.

TIOGA CHURCH SETS DATE FOR FALL BAZAAR ?The annual fall bazaar, "God, Gifts, Community," in First Lutheran Church, Tioga, will be Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A sneak peak will be offered at 10:30 a.m.

Baked goods, crafts and lefse will be sold. Slushburgers, egg salad sandwiches, calico beans, potato salad and dessert will be available for lunch. A door prize will be given away.

STANLEY CHURCH SETS DATE FOR LUTEFISK, MEATBALL SUPPER American Lutheran Church, of Stanley, will hold its annual lutefisk and meatball supper Nov. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Tickets will be $16 for adults and $5 for youth ages 6 to 12. There will be no charge for preschoolers.

There will be entertainment before and during the supper.
