Kent Palmer, 38, Moorhead, Minn., formerly of Bismarck, N.D., died June 14, 2011, at his residence. Services will be held Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m., in Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with Rev. John Guthrie officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Family will be greeting visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 17, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Kent was born in Englewood, Colo., where he lived in the Denver area with his family until they moved to Elkhart, Kan., where he went to school through sixth grade. Kent moved with his family to Bismarck and graduated from eighth grade at Cathedral Grade School. Kent continued his education at St. Mary's High School and Century High School, graduating from South Central High School in 1991.

He had a love for music, composing and recording a variety of songs. Kent was also known and well-liked as a charming, efficient and prompt waiter at local restaurants while living in Bismarck. Kent lived in Minot for a short time before moving to the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Kent is survived by: his parents, Carie Eman, Bismarck, and David (Shirley) Palmer, Green River, Wyo.; his siblings, Michael (June) Palmer, Bismarck, Lillian Palmer, Green River, Wyo., Brien (Darla) Krank, Fargo, Dana (Diana) Krank, Las Vegas, Nev., Galen Krank, Jesse Krank, Los Angeles, Calif., Jennifer (Casey) Maez, Green River, Wyo.; his grandparents, Bettye Palmer and Pearl Eman, both of Minot; his nephew, Kyle Palmer, Bismarck; and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, step-nieces and step-nephews.

Memorials: Memorials may be made in Kent's memory to the Abused Adult Resource Center or the Mental Health America Association of North Dakota.
