'MOTHERS, OTHERS' EVENT BEING HELD TODAY The First Lutheran Church Women, of Minot, will host a "Mothers and Others" salad potluck luncheon today, starting at 11:30 a.m., in the parish center, 120-5th Ave. NW. The luncheon of salads, breads and dessert will begin at noon.

There will be entertainment and a program by Geraldeen Rude, of Minot, on "Aprons."

Women who attend are encouraged to bring their favorite salad to share.

MOTHER'S DAY CONCERT PLANNED IN MINOT CHURCH A service of music is planned Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, 1615-2nd St. SE.

The Mother's Day concert will feature music by the choir and musicians of the church.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S CLUB TO MEET TUESDAY Minot Christian Women's Club will meet Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. in the Grand International Inn, Minot. The doors open at 11:30 a.m.

The speaker for "Puttin' on the Ritz" will be Ruth Stoecker, of Sioux Falls, S.D. Her talk is titled, "He Was Always There." Amy Ones, of Tolley, will present a mini piano concert and there will be a vintage style show.

BENEFIT BREAKFAST TO BE HELD FOR SURREY WOMAN A benefit pancake breakfast will be held May 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 502-17th St. NW, for Miranda Sherman, of Surrey.

Sherman, a daughter of Jan Sherman, of Surrey, was badly burned in a house fire July 19, 2010. She is employed at Kroll's Diner in Minot.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental funds.

MINOT MAN TO RECEIVE PROCEEDS OF BENEFIT BREAKFAST A benefit pancake breakfast will be served May 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 200 E. Burdick Expressway, for Craig Gillmore, of Minot.

Gillmore, a self-employed carpet installer, was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in January. He was hospitalized nine days and then released. Two weeks later his colon was removed during emergency surgery. He spent three weeks in a rehab unit in Mandan and was released to do home care on April 27.

Proceeds of the freewill offering will help pay medical expenses.

PROCEEDS OF POTLUCK BENEFIT DINNER TO BE GIVEN TO BUTTE MAN A potluck dinner benefit will be held May 15 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Butte Legion Hall.

Proceeds of the benefit will be given to Jim Moseanko, of Butte, to help with medical expenses. He has been diagnosed with cancer.

A freewill offering will be received. Supplemental funds have been applied for through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Donations may also be sent to Lena Volochenko, 1919-4th Ave. NW, Butte, ND 58723.
