Pvt. 1st Class Taylor Braaten of Minot has completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individ-ual Training for the North Dakota Army National Guard.

Braaten attended Basic Combat Training for 10 weeks at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and then continued on to Advanced Individual Training which consisted of four weeks of military occupational schooling, which was also there, graduating on Nov. 19, 2010.

Prior to his training, Braaten was assigned to the Recruit Training Company in Devils Lake which prepared him for his military training by learning basic combat and soldier tasks. Since the completion of his training, Braaten has been assigned to the 957th Engineer Company in Bismarck as a bridge crewmember.

Braaten's parents are Kym and Darcy Braaten of Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 2010 and currently attends North Dakota State University in Fargo, where he is studying engineering.

Pvt. 1st Class Jacob Libke of Minot has completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individ-ual Training for the North Dakota Army National Guard.

Libke attended Basic Combat Training for 10 weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., and then attended Advanced Individual Training which consisted of 14 weeks of military occupational schooling at Fort Lee, Va., graduating Nov. 23, 2010.

Prior to his training, Libke was assigned to the Recruit Training Company in Devils Lake which prepared him for his military training by learning basic combat and soldier tasks. Since the completion of his training, Libke has been assigned to Forward Support Company, 164th Engineer Battalion, in Minot as a metal worker.

Libke's mother is Karrie Libke of Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 2009 and plans to attend Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyo.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Zebulon Pierce graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of Steven Pierce of Minot and grandson of Lee Holford of Colbert, Wash.

Pierce graduated in 2002 from Minot High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2009 from Minot State University.
