Nuclear safety inspection passed

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE - The 5th Bomb Wing and the munitions squadron at Minot Air Force Base both have passed their nuclear surety inspection, Air Force Global Strike Command officials announced Friday.

Both units received satisfactory, officials said. Satisfactory is the highest rating.

The inspection began Aug. 11 and concluded Friday.

Brig. Gen. Sandy Finan, inspector general for Global Strike Command, announced the results of the inspection Friday to the wing membership. Lt. Gen. Frank G. Klotz, commander of Global Strike Command from Barksdale AFB, La., was at the base for the announcement.
