Gordon and Chris (Cleone) Roen of Minot will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Saturday, July 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 1800 Hiawatha St. SE. There will be a short program at 3 p.m. Their children, spouses and grandchildren will host the event. The couple request no gifts.
Gordon and Chris are 1963 graduates of Minot State University. They taught school for 12 years and then Gordon entered the real estate profession. Chris continued teaching for 36 years in North Dakota and Arizona. After retirement they started spending their summers in Minot and winters in Sun Lakes, Ariz.
Their children are Scott of Parker, Colo.; Corey, El Paso, Texas; and Kevin of Aurora, Ill. The couple has nine grandchildren.
