Former Minot man named airman of year

Senior Airman Aaron Luetzen has been selected as the Air Force's Professional Logistic Airman of the Year for 2010.

The award presentation is scheduled for May 27 in Washington, D.C.

Luetzen, 22, grew up in Minot. During his senior year of high school he moved to South St. Paul, Minn., where he graduated in 2006. After his return to Minot he enlisted in the Air Force in March 2008. Currently, he is stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Luetzen has had several achievements since enlisting in the Air Force including receiving Senior Airman Below the Zone in February. His other military awards and decorations are: Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with one oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expiditionary Medal Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Ribbon Short Tour, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon Gold Frame and Air Force Training Ribbon.

Luetzen is the son of Debbie Luetzen of Houston and Lavern Behm of Des Lacs. He is married to the former Jennessa Duncan and they have a son, Kaleb.

Minot High grad completes Army training course

Army National Guard Pvt. Deidra Steele has graduated from the Automated Logistical Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School at Fort Lee at Petersburg, Va.

The course is designed to train soldiers to establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, materiel control, accounting and support reports, automated and manual accounting records; perform stock record/warehouse functions pertaining to receipt, storage, distribution and issue and maintain equipment records and parts; review and verify bills of lading, contracts, and purchase orders; repair and construct shipping crates for equipment and supplies, and perform prescribed loads and shop stock lists in manual and automated supply applications.

The daughter of Keith and Darla Steele of Berthold, she is a 2006 graduate of Minot High School.

Air Force Airman Andrew Knuth graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The son of Robert and Shannon Knuth, Minot, he is a 2007 graduate of Bishop Ryan High School, Minot.
