Sheriff’s office investigates murder

BERTHOLD A Berthold man has been charged with murder in the death of a 44-year-old woman during an alleged domestic dispute early Sunday, according to the Ward County Sheriff's office.

David Hail, 39, was arrested Sunday about 5 p.m. The name of the victim has not been released.

According to a department news release, deputies were called to a domestic disturbance in the town of Berthold at 12:30 a.m. They were unable to get anyone in the residence to come to the door. They entered the house after a deputy saw from a window that a person was lying on the floor.

The Ward County Sheriff’s Department cordoned off a mobile home in Berthold, where a death early Sunday is being investigated as a murder.

The woman was dead at the scene. Hail was found injured and unresponsive and was transported to a Minot hospital.
