Thanks to the recent addition of a boutique, patrons of DK Salon and Spa can now walk out with a new haircut AND a new purse, scarf or piece of jewelry.
"We dabbled in it at our previous location, but we decided to go for it after getting several requests from our customers," said Lori Burbach, who co-owns the salon and boutique with business partner Deb Stafslien. "We do a lot of wedding parties so we thought it would be nice if they could do it all at once and at one spot."
The boutique, located inside DK Salon and Spa at 3108 S. Broadway, features purses, scarves, jewelry and accessories, and unique gifts a majority of which are under $60.
The pair introduced the boutique on Nov. 11 by holding a grand opening for a small group of friends and relatives.
"The grand opening was excellent," Stafslien said. "We have so many unique items and different styles that it appeals to a wide audience. Our slogan is 'everything a girl wants' and I think it's true."
"It's been going really well," added Burbach. "We have new people coming in all the time because of word of mouth and I see people driving by all the time. It's been a lot of fun."
Although it's been less than a month since the boutique opened, the pair is already planning more additions.
Burbach said they plan to incorporate more hair accessories into their line and will also now offer pre-booked individual and small group personal shopping experiences.
