Kristi C. Belgarde will be promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the Air Force. She was notified of her upgrade in rank Thursday.
She is knowledge operations manager journeyman with Detachment 1/342 Training Squadron pararescue and combat rescue officer training school at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M.
A daughter of Daniel A. Belgarde, Minot, she graduated from Minot High School in 1999.
She was stationed at Offutt AFB, Omaha, Neb., before Kirtland AFB. She has been a member of the Honor Guard at Kirtland for 17 months and is a flight trainer.
Capt. Mark Westereng, of Minot, retired Sept. 30, 2008, from the North Dakota Army National Guard with 21 years of military service. His last assignment, which he held since March 2002, was with the state Medical Detachment located in Bismarck, where he was a medical services officer. Westereng began his military career in 1987 when he enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard as an operating room specialist. He also held the job skill of medic until accepting a direct commission as a medical services officer in March 2002.
Airman Basic Robert Matishek and Airman Samantha Matishek both entered the Air Force April 21.
After both completed eight weeks of all requirements of the basic military training, graduated on June 19 at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. They are currently in the Technical School for Security Forces.
Robert is a 2005 graduate of Minot High School. Samantha is a 2008 graduate of Blue Earth Area High School, Blue Earth, Minn.
Their parents are Robert and Brenda Perryman of Winnebago, Minn., and retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Daniel and Audrey Matishek, of Minot.
