Ruth (Engeland) Rossow of Minot will celebrate her 100th birthday Saturday, May 16, with a card shower, arranged by her son Brian and his wife of Minot, and her nieces, Ruth Granfor, Dunn Center, and Norma Nodland, Halliday. Cards may be sent to her in care of ManorCare Health Services, 600 S. Main St., Minot, ND 58701.
She was born May 16, 1909, to Amund and Marit (Flaaten) Engeland, near Barton. She grew up near Barton and attended Rugby High School and college in Minot. She and her two sisters, Maude and Mabel, were elementary school teachers. Ruth taught at Dunn Center and several other towns in North Dakota and at Washington, Longfellow and Bel Air Elementary Schools in Minot. She and her sister, Maude, had a day care for children in Minot for a few years.
