DENVER Competing against 44 contestants, Hilary Gietzen of Minot placed third in an international sheep-shearing contest held recently during the National Western Stock Show in Denver. Judges took into account time, appearance, workmanship and condition of fleece in determining rank placements. For his third-place finish Gietzen received more than $1,000 worth of shearing equipment and cash prizes.
