Four young farmers Rachel Bina of Lankin, Steve Heger of Underwood, Chris Brossart of Wolford and Eric Bartsch of Bismarck were recently named finalists along with an alternate Lucas Lang of Sterling in the first-ever North Dakota Farm Bureau Young Farm and Rancher Challenge, held at the YF&R Leadership Conference Jan. 23-25 in Bismarck.
Finalists were chosen based on a 15-minute discussion on issues and a five-minute videotaped interview. In addtion to several prizes, the winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to Seattle next January to attend the American Farm Bureau Convention and compete in the YF&R Discussion Meet held during the event. The four runner-ups will receive a trip to the state Farm Bureau Convention and Exposition in Bismarck next year.
