Thanks for nothing
Jeffery Thomas, SurreyThanks for nothing Congress. In a glaring display of why the 2006 elected Democratic congress has the lowest approval record ever, they have decided to bow out of trying to do anything to right the financial emergencies being experienced on Wall Street this week. It's good to see that even after taking a summer break and finally coming back to work, that you're hard at work figuring out when to quit working.
Thanks for nothing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for letting your Congress continue to do nothing besides declare another day in recognition of left-handed, redheaded taxi drivers named "John." Since you took over nothing has gotten accomplished besides a lot of finger pointing and screaming for the heads of our current administration.
Thank God the elections are only a few weeks away. With any luck we'll get people in there again who will work for the country rather than on opportunities not to. By the way...to any left-handed, redheaded taxi drivers named "John," no offense intended.

What absolutely blows my mind is we have the power as the people to vote these arrogant idiots out of office, but the general public doesn't pay attention enough to issues that they re-elect them over & over again. And even the one's that get into office on the pretense of taking care of this kind of idiocy, become part of the problem in their first term. I don't know if anybody remembers the movie from several years ago, called "Brewster's Millions" with Richard Pryor. I think he had one*****of an idea with the "Write In" vote of "none of the above" It seems that for the last 4 elections we can't come up with a clear cut candidate that really deserves the office & we have to try make a decision of the lesser of 2 evils. Unbelievable in the "land of the free, and home of the brave"

As for your 2nd ammendment comment...I heard a commercial the other day from a pawn shop here in Minot, "Buy your firearms while you still can!!!" Boy isn't that the truth. If Obama gets his way IF he gets elected, we're looking at "Demolition Man" for sure. "STOP!!! Or I shall say stop again!!!" ***********ontheissues****/2008/barack_obama_gun_control.htm this page pretty much lays it out there for you.

Boy this letter keeps getting better each time I read it. Earl Pomeroy is part of the biggest, laziest, do nothing Congress ever. Pelosi said that if we gave the Democrats power that we would see changes. Boy did we ever, we almost saw the collapse of our economy. Pomeroy is soldier #1 of the Pelosi Congress. If you love the 2nd Amendment, Pro Life causes, or you just hate corruption, please vote for Duane Sand this election year.

What bothers me is I have a granddaughter in Detroit having very severe surgery the first of Dec and I can't afford a Northwest tickets for me and my wife, but Northwest can give Pomeroy 3000.00 dollars for his reelection Try 1753.00 dollars round trip for each of us. I am so tired of a Congress that does nothing for the little person and pockets money from the people who say "We are here to help You"

You nailed it on the head. Earl Pomeroy is just as responsible as Pelosi. He took money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has voted against energy for this state 6 times in the last two years. He has been in there to long. We need change. ND Girl, you need to get involved with the Duane Sand campaign. We need change in North Dakota and good people like you can do it. That was a great letter and great comment. Pomeroy is out of touch.

First I want to say that I'd submitted this letter a couple weeks ago when it was first announced that Congress was stepping back from this topic. After being contacted about having it verified, I said that it could probably just stay out since Congress was actually going to do something. How fitting however, that it was published anyway and Congress/The House has STILL not done anything about it. Any kind of bailout would be disastrous for our economy on a whole. Let the banks/lenders/companies that made these bad loans deal with it themselves. Let them lie down in the bed they made. That's what so great about CAPITALISM. Those with the sense enough not to make shady loans won't get burnt in the process when the people they made loans to that they shouldn't have to begin with can't pay up.

I think it is also important to note that our own Congressman from North Dakota,Mr.Pomeroy VOTD YES to the so called bailout of wall street. I hope everyone that votes in North Dakota remembers this in the next few weeks when you go to vote. This is the same Congressman that left for Congreesional vacation when WE THE PEOPLE were paying and still are paying way to much for fuel/gas instead of helping us,but has choosen to stay nights/weekends to spend 700B of our money we don't even have to rescue wallstreet. Washington has lied to the working people way to long and it's time we stand up and say NO and put people into our Federal and State Govt that will work for us.
