Eric Jon Torkildson
July 28, 1967-June 27, 2008Eric Jon Torkildson, 40, of Matthews, NC, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.
Visitation was Sunday, June 29, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, Mint Hill, NC. Inurnment took place in Snow Shoe, PA.
He was born July 28, 1967, at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, TX, to James and Ernestine Torkildson. He moved with his family to England in 1970. In 1974 he returned with his family to Reese AFB, Lubbock, TX. After his father's retirement from the Air Force in 1975, he moved with his family to North Dakota. He graduated from Rugby High School in 1985. In 1989 he moved to Pennsylvania, where he met his future wife.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and competing in triathalons. However, the most important thing to Eric was spending time with his family.
He is survived by: His parents, of Minot; his wife, Mitzi; their three children, Janelle, Erica and Justin; a sister, Irene Torkildson, Centerville, VA; a brother, Jimmy Torkildson, Bismarck; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Janice Dreibelbis, of Snow Shoe, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
