Forgotten owners

May 26, 2013

Gerald Fredriksen, Minot Why have property owners on the north side of Rice Lake been forgotten since mid-June 2011? You have pumped water uphill into a well-known aquifer to the northeast....

If Minot was an stock market investment opportunity it would be a real bad one IMO. I think the city of Minot is more worried about retirement programs and insurance and pet projects that they can get their names on than anything. Some peoples wise investments can turn a quarter into a dollar but Minot can turn millions of dollars into a quarter, that must be the magic of the tragic city. LOL!!!

Let me make it clear.. The city of Minot does not, nor has it ever cared about what those of us living in the flood zone think they should do with the flood money they have received. The city saw the flood as an opportunity to fund their personal pet projects. They could give a crap about what happens to the flood zone. The flood zone is forgotten about in the city's eyes. I recall an article a while back where the city officials were bragging about some federal money that they were getting. I don't recall how much it was, but it was a lot. Their official response was "This money will help with our downtown revitalization project, and we may be able to buy out a couple of homes as well." This city is the greediest city I've ever seen.

When do we stop bailing out stupid people? You build next to a body of water you are going to have water problems! Fact! You build on a cliff you could have a land slide! Common sense goes a long way! Why should the rest of ND pay for stupid people?

I am sure that all this rain will help solve this issue. Time for the sun to come out

Gerald, I feel bad for the property owners at Rice Lake, But in no way should you get any of the flood money, ie CBGF given to Minot. Heck Minot, or should I say a few in Minot want to spend that Money on Parking Lots downtown, and a Fire Station on North hill. And NO ONE I talk to in the flood zone agrees with that.
