Who is looking out for Minot?

April 28, 2013

There’s so much to be said. The price-gouging, greed, rudeness and the cell phone driving/texting – ridiculous....

Some people are doing very well in Minot! I noticed the Ryan family has several more auto dealerships here in town and in Williston and Bismarck! So not all Minoters are suffering and I am sure there are several other Minot business associates and city officials that are benefiting from all of this oil, and gov't flood relief assistance. I am sure the engineering firm has been benefiting greatly!

He did fervently request the Corps to drop the Lake Darling level two feet below their desired level. He only got a foot, but that is more than he did in 2011,-)

I think you just answered your own question, where did everybody go? And now you are leaving. I see plenty of folks with ND plates lost in their cell phone while driving too. Bad drivers are bad drivers, doesn't matter what state they are from. And maybe once Minot "officially" reaches 50,000 people we might get some more attention.

I see that 16th St SW flooded up by the Y. Guess they should have built in some drainage forcing the wqater south along 16th. Or prohibited the building in green acres and east leaving the entire area for natural drainage. Another spot is where flooding occured near Jim Ryan's east to main street. Basements got a few inches of water. Things happen. Yes, NO ONE repaired the water main in 2012. It is still broken. Of course, they repaired it.

And in December 2012 two weeks before Christmas a sewer main broke in NW Minot and not one person did anything about it especially after proper authorities were alerted....so some people had to repull sheetrock out of their houses after just completing their houses from the last flood.....

Concerned, if you listened to the news repeatedly, the city can only fully repair the pot holes once the temp is above freezing with asphalt which the company does NOT start producing it till the temp is above freezinat night. the cith has been out using temporary fills till such time that the weather is cooperating. The flood is more debatable. Gruenberg has been on top of the situation. Zimbleman is far mor assertive this time around than 2011. Is it perfect? Absolutely NOT. Did Canada more than cooperate this year? Yes. I can not agree with your blanket statement that NO one is doing anything. There are many who are doing things. The biggest culprit is again the federal government. But individuals are taking matters into their own hands. that is the way things get done. Since when is 16th St SW being flooded? Please answer that.

I agree with the editorial.....nobody is looking out for the people of this town and I just love driving on potholes, in addition people have had flooding again and nobody does one*****thing about it....oh and there is a project for Puppy Dog Coulee out there somewhere that got lost but we'll just flood 16th St SW over and over.........
