"Also, these bills remove funding for SexED AND ban forms of birth control."

"...these bills have a clause in them saying that if you miscarry, you can be charged with MURDER, MANSLAUGHTER, or reckless endangerment..."

These statements aren't 100% accurate. I've read the bills and they don't prohibit methods of contraception, and I didn't see a "clause" about miscarriage either.

If these statements can be proven, from the language of the three bills, I'll apologize for my post.

Also, these bills remove funding for SexED AND ban forms of birth control. They also ban certain IVF procedures. Don't you want women to have every chance at having a child they can get, since you're obviously "Pro-Life"? Did you also know that these bills have a clause in them saying that if you miscarry, you can be charged with MURDER, MANSLAUGHTER, or reckless endangerment?? Or about the fact that it can make your DNR or living will null and void? If I'm in an accident and end up a vegetable, that means NO MATTER WHAT .MY. wishes were, my family couldn't take me off life support because, unlike what MDN says, these are PERSONHOOD bills (NOT abortion bills), that came from OUT OF STATE, thanks to PersonhoodUSA (Not from ND!), that define life at conception until your DEATH (No heartbeat!). PLEASE read what these bills ACTUALLY are before you just decide they're abortion bills and that we're all murderers for wanting it veto'd.

@Shoppegirl: If all life is precious to you, you should read the WHOLE of the bills that are on Gov. Dalrymple's desk. These bills will make it insanely harder for doctors to terminate a pregnancy if the mother's life is in danger. Meaning if your pregnancy goes wrong, they won't be able to take the baby out to save your life. So just remember that when you or your daughters or sisters get pregnant and have difficulties with their pregnancy and DIE because the doctors weren't allowed to remove the fetus that was killing her. PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES! Do you want to DIE along with the baby or do you want to live and have another chance for a baby? If you have cancer do you want to have to travel to another state to save your eggs for IF you survive chemo you MIGHT be able to have children? Unintended pregnancies are already at 40 percent with abortion legal...How high do you want to see that percentage with abortions illegal? Think before you force your OPINION on everyone else.

A few days ago, I referred to the bill that would prohibit abortion based on gender and genetic defects as a pointless waste of time. I can see now that I was bit short-sighted in that judgement. On it's face, the bill is pointless and I suspect it wouldn't prevent a single abortion. However, coupled with the companion bill, anything that would challenge the legal precedent established in Roe v. Wade is worth trying. The court battle IS the point. Let's topple the whole house of cards while we're at it.

This NEEDS to be decided by the voters as the article says...The ND Senate only passed it with 26 for and 19 against..Not even a majority!! These wacko repubics are embarassing to our state!!

Dalrymple took the oath in January. It reads as follows: “I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of North Dakota; and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of governor according to the best of my ability, so help me God.”

According to his oath, Dalrymple has sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution as well as the constitution of North Dakota. But the anti-abortion bills that the North Dakota Legislature has passed clearly or even, some would say, deliberately violate the U.S. Constitution.

Dalrymple should veto the bills and put the full onus on the legislature if they override the veto.

The ND legislature needs more Democratic representation. Enough with the crazies.

I think it should be voted on also, we shouldn't expect the Governor to shoulder the full responsibility IMHO.
